The City of Fort Worth Property Management Department, Facilities Division, provides City Departments with world class facility planning, design, construction, renovation and maintenance service. The Division is seeking a qualified CommercialRoofer for renovation and remodeling of City owned facilities. The applicant will perform roof maintenance, repair and installation of large commercial buildings. The Facilities Division maintains over 300 facilities throughout the City of Fort Worth. This position requires driving to facilities throughout the City to perform preventive maintenance and make repairs to various types of roof systems. This position offers a 4-day work week. Shift hours are 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday or 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday – Friday, depending on business needs.
The selected applicant must have the ability to work independently, lift and carry up to 100 lbs., climb and work from ladders and scaffolds at considerable heights, utilize appropriate tools in performing roofing maintenance, repair and installation and to follow written and verbal instructions.

A High School Diploma required, or GED supplemented by specialized training in roofing or a related field, PLUS two years of increasingly responsible roofing experience.
Knowledge of and experience in installation and repair of torch down systems, TPO systems, wood shingles, clay tile roofs and composite shingle roofs desired. Experience in metal fabrication and installation of gutters and downspouts desired. Preference may be given to applicants with more than 2 years experience and the desired knowledge of roof systems and metal fabrication.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
